We’re so excited to introduce you to a new member of our team: Ryan Kolbe, Volunteer Engagement Leader (around the office we just call him Kolbe).
He’s the guy you’ll talk to if you want to set up a group volunteer opportunity or have questions about signing up. You’ll see him around the Indian Trail office as well as our mobile pantries working with volunteers.
Ryan has spent his entire working life in nonprofits, most recently teaching high school social studies to international schools in Korea. He and his wife, Corrie, have been married since 2007 and have 5 children – their youngest was just born on July 2!
“I like knowing that all of the effort I put into my job goes right to the people we are serving,” Ryan said. “It’s been quite exciting so far. I’m learning the job while trying to get the job done. Everyone has been very nice and helpful. The best part so far was conversing with our neighbors while I took their information at a mobile pantry. I’m looking forward to participating in those again.”
In his spare time, Ryan likes to play board games, read science fiction, and swim. You can reach Ryan at Volunteer@CommonHeart.org or 704-218-9060 ext. 1003.
