We’re so excited to introduce you to our newest member of the team, Ayana Meacham, who is now our Indian Trail Pantry Manager. If you’ve volunteered with us in Marshville recently you’ll know Ayana as she started her time with us there. She’ll now be working with volunteers and our neighbors from Indian Trail. 

Ayana is a new Indian Trail resident, moving to the area from Charleston, SC with her husband and their 8-year-old son. She said when she was job searching she struggled to find anything that “made me happy” – until she saw the opportunity at Common Heart. 

“I grew up helping my community with my mother and that fostered a love for community service,” she said. “I’m just happy that Common Heart also provides a place that feels like home, as well as a job that is fulfilling.”

So far, Ayana said she feels right at home. 

“So far, everything has been going great. Some days are a little hectic, but what is life without excitement?” she said. “The best part has been the volunteers and meeting new people every day that I come to work. I’m most looking forward to fostering relationships and really getting to know our neighbors and volunteers.” 

Ayana’s family also includes 2 cats and a dog. In her free time, she loves to workout, refurbish furniture, do woodworking, and spend lots of time with her family.
