Our 12th annual free income tax service kicked off last week and volunteers are busy preparing and filing taxes for our neighbors — for FREE!!!

Taxes are completed by trained and certified volunteers as part of the national Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, or VITA, program. The free service is available to anyone with an annual household income of $60,000 or less. You don’t even have to live in Union County!

We still have volunteer opportunities to serve as a greeter to welcome our neighbors, get them checked in and answer basic questions as they fill out forms before their tax appointment. Brief ethics training required.
