We heard a VERY special story from one of the volunteers at our Union UMC food pantry last week. In his own words:

“A car pulled up with a young man in the back seat that was 5 1/2 years old. He talked with me about the stages of the moon, and fun facts about planets. He said his favorite planet was Earth (I told him mine was too!) We shared Doritos and high fives.

His Mom shared with all of us there that her son has autism and hasn’t spoken in a year!!

It was amazing that he felt safe enough to talk to me. I felt love and gratitude that the child decided to speak with me. I feel very blessed to have had this amazing opportunity!”

WOW!!! You just never know how your kindness will speak to someone!
