Did you know? Just $100 a month provides meals for an entire Getting Ahead training session for family leaders to create a self-sufficient future breaking the power of generational poverty. Not having to worry about dinner on evenings when there are sessions is a huge burden for these families and allow them to be ready to explore poverty in their own lives and in our community.
You can help provide these meals by joining us for the 6th annual Common Heart Hunger Walk on Sunday, March 5. Get all the details and register online at: CommonHeartHungerWalk.org
Getting Ahead is a “safe place” as one of our recent graduates has described it.
“It was a comfortable place and a place where I felt peace and friendship. There was accountability there–I (wanted) to be there and be on time. I felt understood, too. I felt like I fit in for the first time in a long time.”
Another graduate explained after taking the Money & Me workshop that she had the first time in her memory money left over at the end of the month.
“I’m learning how to make a budget and stick with it. I’m getting better about not being late everywhere and to make my appointments on time.”
