“I’ve never seen the shelves so empty.”
That was the reaction from one of our pantry warehouse volunteers last week. It’s true — summer is TOUGH! Historically, the need for groceries goes up and donations go down and that’s definitely what we’re seeing right now!
As we enter the final two weeks of our Hunger Doesn’t Take a Vacation campaign, we’re reminded that August is a critical month for your support. In August, we typically see record-breaking numbers of families with children needing food.
How can you help?
- Host a food drive! This is a great opportunity for any group, including businesses, churches and organizations!

- Pick up a few extra nonperishables during your next shopping trip and drop them off! We have drop boxes in front of our office in Indian Trail (116 Business Park Drive) or drop off inside the Marshville Library.
