Getting Ahead graduate now hired as Getting Ahead Coordinator
You may recognize one of our newest employees… Sarah Kimbrough, our Getting Ahead Coordinator. Sarah is a Getting Ahead graduate who we’ve been thrilled to add to our staff!
She’s a Union County native who graduated from Parkwood High School and is a former paramedic and Mom of 4 precious kids. She’s already working to move her family out of poverty and into stability and said the ability to share about her own struggles helps her better lead the work groups.
“After participating in the Getting Ahead group, I found myself empowered and wanted to make a difference in this community – one family at a time,” she said. “The best part of Getting Ahead is I am one of them, I can struggle and be in the tyranny of the moment right along with them and fit in. It’s a group of individuals that I can empathize and sympathize with. I look forward to being able to facilitate more Getting Ahead groups and R-rules for our youth to help the ‘small revolution of kindness’ continue.”
Sarah loves animals and is currently raising chickens & ducks! She loves outdoor activities with her kids and they often bring along their dog, Belle.
You can reach Sarah at: 704-218-9060 ext. 1009 or Sarah.Kimbrough@CommonHeart.org
