In this Love in Action season we’re SO glad we got to celebrate with our Getting Ahead graduate Holland and her children this month during a groundbreaking ceremony for their new home with our friends at Greater Matthews Habitat for Humanity.

Holland was one of our very first GA graduates in 2018 and her progress since has been amazing.

Holland told our friends at Habitat that she credits the Getting Ahead workgroup to starting her on a path to stability.

“When you’re in poverty, you’re living day to day; you’re just trying to survive. So, you’re not really thinking about the outcome – you can’t really plan to save money for a tire that might go out on your car,” she said. “But (Common Heart) gave me a different mindset, to kind of, think a little different.”
