In just one day last week, we gave out 5 emergency boxes of food to families who were desperately hungry and needed help to get through the weekend and to our next food pantry.

Among those neighbors were some new friends, “Mary” & “Susan,” two long-time friends who are sharing hotel room costs as they look for a more permanent rental. “Mary” has a toddler-aged grandson she’s caring for and they’re both working, but like so many are struggling to make ends meet.

Thanks to YOUR donations, they left with lots of food, plus smiles and HOPE. We’re looking forward to seeing them at our regular evening pantries now that they know how to get help with groceries.

“We just can’t thank you enough,” Mary said. “This is more than just food for us. It fills our bellies AND our hearts!”
