Did you hear?! Common Heart is ‘hamming it up’ this year due to turkey shortages and will be giving away hams instead of turkeys with Thanksgiving baskets.
Due to the shortages and rising grocery costs this year we’ve also had to increase to a $40 donation providing the whole Thanksgiving meal for one family. WFAE Radio did a great story about how the supply chain issues are affecting local food pantries.
We definitely need help to make Thanksgiving Day a huge blessing for 1,500 local families!
Thanksgiving feasts can be donated virtually at Thanksgiving.CommonHeart.org or drop off nonperishables by Friday (Nov. 12). Our biggest needs are canned green beans, canned cranberry sauce & boxed stuffing mix.
We’re still collecting 10-16 pound frozen turkeys for those who don’t eat pork. Those can be dropped off at our Indian Trail warehouse (116 Business Park Drive, suite A) Mon-Fri 10 a.m.- 3 p.m. or Sat 8 a.m.-Noon.
And don’t forget to sign up to volunteer to help deliver these meals on Saturday, Nov. 20! Spots are still available at our Marshville location! Thanksgiving.CommonHeart.org
