Let’s Kickstart Kindness!

As with each spring, things around us start to return to life. And each April, we focus on new ways to kickstart kindness. You and friends like you sow seeds of generosity and water new plants of compassion locally.

With gratefulness and expectation, we look to you; the heroes of this small revolution of kindness to kickstart kindness this spring into high gear!

Thanks to you this movement of kindness grows each year, serving more and more families and individuals. It expands because folks like you volunteer, donate, and partner so the most basic needs of our neighbors are met and their hope for the future grows.

This year, some very generous friends have challenged us to raise support in four new exciting initiatives.  They have literally put up $50,000. These friends will increase your impact through matching dollar for dollar each investment in the initiatives listed. Plus, if you are willing to become a monthly donor, they will triple your impact adding two dollars for every dollar you pledge monthly. Now is the time to give and see your generosity and kindness multiplied! Give online at: Kickstart.CommonHeart.org

These are the initiatives and projects that your donation investment can fund.

  • Supporting the brand new evening pantry at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church in Marvin and upcoming evening pantry at Stallings Church, beginning in May.  Common Heart will now have pantries open 6 days a week, each week throughout Union County.
  • Increasing the capacity of our Indian Trail warehouse to serve our 15 food pantry outreaches reaching over 14,393 different individuals last year in Union County.
  • Launching a new men’s support group and expanding our Stability and Growth program to increase economic mobility for food insecure families and those challenged by poverty.
  • Expanding our signature Getting Ahead economic empowerment program from 17 to 20 sessions by bringing a new focus on Adverse Childhood Experiences and Trauma and its impact on the lives of low-resourced families in poverty.

And remember, if you choose to increase your impact by becoming a monthly donor, your donation will be tripled! The exciting thing is you can choose which initiative(s) you support with your donation investment!

We are so thankful for you, our amazing friends. Friends like you care about the wellbeing of children and their families locally. Your support feeds 74% of the food insecure families in Union County and reaches beyond our borders into Mecklenburg and Anson counties. Your partnership empowers 100 families each year to move from the instability of poverty to increasing their resources for a more stable and prosperous future for their children. Indeed, your generosity grows the impact of this grassroots movement of kindness; meeting needs and changing lives.

Please, consider giving by May 1 and have your impact doubled or even tripled.

Let’s Kickstart Kindness into high gear this Spring!
