We’re so excited to introduce you to our newest member of the team, Deborah Luna, bookkeeper!

Deborah discovered Common Heart after retiring from a corporate bookkeeping job and brings many years of expertise to this small revolution of kindness.

“I was looking for something that could bridge my desire for service and a little part-time work. Common Heart and its mission filled that desire perfectly,” she said. “I’m really enjoying the work and learning about bookkeeping in the nonprofit world. The best part of the job has been meeting all of the wonderful, dedicated people- both employees and volunteers- that are a part of this organization.”

A resident of Stallings for almost 30 years, Deborah said she’s “looking forward to watching Common Heart grow and doing my best to make the background support the best it can be. I want to allow staff and volunteers to do the front-line work of helping our neighbors.”

Deborah lives with her husband, Dale, (he’s a Charlotte native!) and two adult sons. She was born in Little Rock, AR but moved around a lot while her Dad was in the Air Force. Her hobbies include bird watching, reading, a little gardening and needlepoint (mostly cross stitch). She loves the ocean and traveling to see new places and people.
