New pantry location opens May 3

Union County is getting a new evening food pantry location on Fridays beginning May 3.

We’re so excited to open a weekly food pantry hosted by Stallings Church on Fridays from 7-8 p.m. With this addition, Common Heart will have evening food pantries 5 days a week in various locations throughout the county. With these and the combination of a delivery-based pantry on Saturday for those who cannot attend evening pantries, monthly morning pantries, and various community-based outreaches, Common Heart provides food to an estimated 73% of the food-insecure residents in Union County.

“We’re very thankful for the enthusiastic support of Stallings Church and its congregation,” said Ryan Kolbe, Common Heart Pantry Network Director. “Their location is excellent for serving neighbors in western Union County and we look forward to building relationships with new neighbors and volunteers.”

Schedule of Common Heart evening food pantries below. Parking lots do not open until 5pm, no exceptions.

  • Mondays 7-8 pm at Benton Heights Presbyterian Church, 2701 Concord Ave., Monroe
  • Tuesdays 7-8 pm at Wingate Baptist Church, 109 E. Elm St., Wingate
  • Wednesdays 7-8 pm at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church, 8515 Rea Road, Waxhaw
  • Thursdays 7-8 pm. at Union United Methodist Church, 6315 New Town Road, Wesley Chapel
  • Fridays 7-8 pm at Stallings Church, 1115 Stallings Road, Stallings

If you have any questions about the new evening food pantry schedule or any of the available pantry services, visit, or call 704-218-9060.
