Common Heart sponsored and provided training last month for the Bridges Out of Poverty workshop hosted by Thrive! Union in Monroe.

Thrive! Union is the local Union County collaboration of organizations and individuals seeking to address poverty and improve upward mobility for resident. Common Heart is one of the founding organizations of this collaborative.

It was a wonderful time of learning and connecting with other local nonprofits and community leaders. Many of our staff members and Getting Ahead graduates attended. Bridges Out of Poverty is the framework for Common Heart’s economic empowerment and development programs for low-income individuals. 

This workshop helps individuals to better understand the environment of poverty, and its impact on individuals living in and raised in poverty.
