Getting Ahead brings a focus to building resources so families can move out of the instability of poverty to a place of stability creating a better life for themselves and their children. The eleven resources are: Financial, Physical, Spiritual, Emotional, Mental, Financial, Relationships & Role Models, Social Capital, Knowledge of the Hidden Rules, Language / Formal Register, Integrity & Trust, and Motivation & Persistence. Our Staying Ahead courses help to build individual resources to Get Ahead and Stay Ahead.

Current Offerings

Emergency Savings Incentive Plan – The Emergency Savings Incentive Plan is a voluntary, 12- month resource building incentive program for families participating in the Getting Ahead program. Participants complete steps toward economic self-sufficiency while receiving community support to meet their goals.
Success Coaching – Success Coaching is a lot like any kind of coaching. You have a person on the sidelines helping you to do your best with the resources available. They may tell you about some additional resources that you didn’t know about that could help you to achieve your goals, or they may have some insights for you to consider as to why you’re having such a hard time staying motivated.
Money & Me (Financial) – Financial Literacy for families seeking to escape generational poverty.
Money Matters 101 – covers a variety of financial topics. These topics are basic but are the building blocks for financial stability, security, and building wealth.
Take Charge of Your Life(Relationships & Role Models) – Applying TED* (The Empowerment Dynamic) to create stable, empowering relationships.
Hidden Rules in the Workplace – Discover how unspoken social and workplace “rules” impact communication, teamwork, and success on the job.
Economic Empowerment Allies – aims to provide supportive relationships and proven tools to individuals seeking to transform their lives and move out of poverty.
