Become an Ally: Make a Lasting Difference

Many of our neighbors don’t just need food or programs – they need a friend, a support system, an advocate. They need an Ally!

Becoming an Ally is more than volunteering — it’s about building relationships, offering encouragement, and showing up consistently with hope.

Allies serve in two powerful ways:

Economic Empowerment Allies provide guidance and encouragement to graduates of our Getting Ahead program, helping them take steps toward long-term stability. Training is required. Interested? Call Delan Fulgham at 704-870-0012 or email Delan.Fulgham@CommonHeart.org

Cupboard Allies deliver groceries (and hope!) once/month to families who can’t attend evening pantries. These neighbors include seniors, those without transportation, and families with special dietary needs. The need is urgent: we currently have a waiting list of families eager for monthly deliveries. Training is required. Interested? Call Alexis McDonald at 980-443-3841 or email Alexis.McDonald@CommonHeart.org

Both roles are rewarding, relational, and deeply impactful. Whether you’re supporting a neighbor on their journey out of poverty or delivering groceries and friendship, being an Ally is a chance to make a meaningful, lasting difference — and you might even gain a new friend!
