For 20 years, I’ve seen what happens when people decide their neighbors will not face hard times alone. 

Today, I’m asking you to put your Love in Action with a generous gift to help neighbors facing hard times right here in our community. 

That spirit of neighbor helping neighbor is how Common Heart began. My wife, Deb, and her friend Barb gathered groceries from their cupboards to help a neighbor in need. My friend Harry and I soon joined them, and together, we started Common Heart.  

Families are facing rising costs and changes to food assistance that make it harder to get by. Your gift today can not only help a neighbor through a crisis, it can help create a path toward greater stability. 

Ms. Peggy came to Common Heart through our evening pantry. She completed our Getting Ahead program, built her savings, learned new financial skills, and started a small business. Now she is sharing what she has learned with others.

That’s what Love in Action can look like: helping someone today while opening the door to a different tomorrow.

This year, 60 family leaders – and 100 next year – will have opportunities to build the skills, resources, and confidence to move toward greater stability.
