Bridges Out of Poverty Workshops

This workshop provides a framework for understanding the dynamics that cause and maintain poverty from the individual to the systemic level. Topics include a mental model of social class, four main areas of research, understanding of the hidden roles of poverty, resources necessary to change, and how language and family structure works in social classes. Day 1 increases our awareness and provides a framework to become more effective in removing barriers and individuals on the journey to self-sufficiency.

(DAY 1 is Prerequisite for this workshop.)
This is the follow-up workshop to Day 1 and which is a prerequisite. Day 2 comprises practical tools and steps individuals, institutions and communities can use to produce change. It includes practical application and tools connected with Bridges. Day 1 material. We'll focus on tools to help an individual move out of poverty, and consider community and institutional issues. A special focus will be given to developing a Bridges Community Steering Committee, Getting Ahead and Local Allies programs.
