Common Cupboard (TEFAP)

We offer two pantries each week featuring  government commodities through the USDA program known as The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP). In  addition we provide fresh produce and baked goods.  Families must be Union County, NC residents and qualify under this government program to receive food. One of these pantries is located in Hemby Bridge at Mill Grove United Methodist Church and the second one is open on Thursday nights.  Union County residents can go to one or the other pantry once per calendar month.  See below for maps of the locations.

There is no need to arrive prior to 6:45 p.m. We employ a raffle to determine the order that you shop. As long as you are there by 7 p.m., you will receive a raffle ticket. When your number is called, you will be able to shop. If you arrive after 7 p.m. you will be given a place after the raffle has finished, in the order that you came.

You can get more information about this program at the TEFAP HOME PAGE. Call 704-218-9060 for details about Common Cupboard at Mill Grove. You can download a copy of the application here.

If we are closed due to weather or holiday, we will announce it on our Facebook Page.

You can also sign up for our text message notifications here.

We are closed on Memorial Day (May), Labor Day (September), Thanksgiving Day (November) and Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year Eve and New Years Day.
