Your generosity makes this small revolution of kindness possible!

What would it be like without Common Heart. Richard, raising 5 kids on his own, shares they might actually be on the streets.
Common Heart provides more than food and other basic needs, Thanks to you, it provides hope!

  • Become A Patron of the Heart

Patron of the Heart donors are special people to us.  These are individuals and businesses who provide the foundation of the support for this small revolution of kindness by giving monthly.  A donation of just $40 per month, given every month, provides a week's worth of groceries to 2 families each month. At our "Bridger of the Gap" level of $100 each month, a volunteer team has all the groceries they need to provide for the five families they serve each month.  Through such giving relationships are fostered and families are positively impacted by God's love.

Here is a brochure explaining giving levels and promotional benefits.

  • Donate Food to the cupboard

In addition to air to breathe and water to drink, food is a most basic necessity of life.  It is hard to believe that according to the UNC School of Government 21.9% of children here in Union County, NC live in homes that are food insecure. Common Cupboard helps to change those numbers through its delivery and traditional pantry programs.  A simple and straightforward way to help is by donating non-perishable food.  You can bring donated food to Common Things Thrift Store 10 am - 5 pm, Tuesday through Saturday.  For larger donations or perishable items, contact to arrange a time to drop off your donations at our main Cupboard.

  • Donate Gently Used and new items to our thrift store

At Common Things Thrift Store clothes, shoes, jewelry, toys, books, pots & pans, linens, framed pictures, small furniture, etc., we can change into into groceries for families in need.
